I've gotten the Cubels' wood parts and they are so different from the rotted parts I have left that I'm debating scrapping the total body rebuild and opting for a better body that needs less work. Any Fordor bodies out there??
Chris, are the wood parts all that different from your rotted originals?
If your sure that your body is a 24 Fordor and the wood kit is for that year it should work.
Be aware that the wood kits just don't drop in. You may need to do some fit up here and there to fit it to the sheet metal.
If you still have the main frame rails check to see if they are the same length as the ones in the kit and go from there.
I have used 2 of Cubels kit and they both had to be fitted up to the sheet metal a bit.
I have a 19 Runabout and finishing a 21 Touring and they worked pretty well with a little fit up.
When I restored my 19 Runabout I found out that Ford used different body makers. This is why a wood kit may not be 'exactly' like the wood in the car your trying to restore.
The wood will usually work with some refitting when its necessary.
This may happen with other kits besides the one's that Cubel makes.
I bought a partial kit from another kit supplier for my 24 Coupe. The same thing was apparent. You had to modify here and there to get it to work.
Good luck.
