Randall,

I use Fast Stone Photo Resizer at:

http://www.faststone.org/

and really like it, has a lot of functionality and not to hard to figure out, plus it's free.

David.

www.irfanview.com

Very powerful, but you can do simple resizing by just loading your picture, then picking "Resize/Resample..." on the Image menu.

. . . and it's free.

I use IrfanView, lots of people use it. Works great and it's free at downloads.com

I know many have trouble resizing pictures. My favorite tool is:

http://www.rw-designer.com/picture-resize

All you do is install, then drag and drop your photo file on to the icon, and your photo is resized to whatever you want. Take a second and read the instructions - it will be your friend for life.

I guarantee there is no easier way if all you want to do is resize.

Randall,
When the app is running the left side of the window is where the source photos will be displayed. It uses standard windows navigation tools to locate folders and files (pictures).

I would create a folder and make copies of several photos and copy the duplicates to this folder. I will create another folder inside of this folder called "resized". I set the app to copy the resized photo to this one so the full size and resized photos are not all mixed up.

I would just play with these photos to test all the functionality of the Photo Resizer, the more you play with it the easier it will be to use. As long as you don't use it commercially there is no fees for using it.

If you have any questions just send me a PM and I'll help you through it. I am a retired software engr so should be able to talk you through it.

David.

If you're using a Mac, just make a copy of the picture so you can keep the original, open the copy, click TOOLS, click ADJUST SIZE, change the size until you have 194 KB or less, click OK, and you're done.

Bud, I tried yours! After it installed 2 piles of garbage, it took a half hour to clean up. It may be easy to use, but, I'm not smart enough to get it!

I never could get irfanview to do anything for me. The imageresizer for windows refered by John Aldrich was simple enough even I was able to do it.

If you are using a PC, you already have a resizer.
Open your photo with Paint. You can resize by pixel or percent. Works well. -- John
