Dirk and Trudy Regter are driving their 1915 Model T around the world in support of the worldwide work of SOS Children's Villages. They are touring the USA in 2013. They are collecting license plates from every state they are visiting and mounting them on the back of their support vehicle. They are missing a few states and I am hopeful some of our members can donate a license plate. They do not need to be vintage plates. They still need the following states: Minnesota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. They will be visiting Bill Sherrill before they leave the USA so could you please send the plates to: Bill Sherrill, 1015 W35th, Houston, TX 77018. Please post on here if you are sending a plate so they do not end up with 50 Mississippi plates. Thank you!
I will send a Minnesota plate tomorrow.
Thank you
Can somebody please help Dirk and Trudy?
I didn't think to give them a Missouri plate when they were here, but I see that Missouri is not on the "wanted" list, so I guess they got one from someone else.
Dennis, I'm away from home for a few days, but, I have a TN (and, maybe an AL) plate at home in SC. When I get back I'll check, and get whatever I've got on the way if it's still needed and let you know.
I'm heading to the post office now with the TN plate. Can't find Alabama.
Opportunity to help out a fellow T couple doing a good deed! Only 4 states left. I put mine in a plain brown envelope and it only cost $1.72 to mail.
Vintage? Modern?
According to Dennis, anything will do.
Thank you Mike. Yes any vintage will do. Dena and I are supplying them with a 1915 Wisconsin plate. We also have a member who is supplying a Kentucky plate.
Thank you. They will really appreciate it.
Have KY plates. Will mail if unable to hand deliver.
Amateur Radio, Historic and regular. Any preference?
I will send an Alabama plate, today.
Help! Attempted to mail a plate.
I tried to get a label using the exact address listed above:
Bill Sherrill, 1015 W35th, Houston, TX 77018
I got an error from USPS stating "Please check the address. It appears the address is not a valid address for shipping."
This is an address where US Mail is delivered daily, right? Any help would be appreciated.
Same problem here
Postal says
Please check the address. It appears the address is not a valid address for shipping.
Google maps has no trouble finding it, maybe spell it out for the post office as follows?
1015 West 35th Street
Houston, TX 77018
Just an idea....
Tried Mark's suggestion. no-go
At www.usps.com
"You have entered a non-deliverable Delivery Address. Please verify address, including apartment, suite, etc."
My guess- mail goes to a different address- PO Box, maybe.
I'm all packaged up and can't ship.
Maybe a workable mailing address will be posted later.
I'll find out in a few days! Took mine to the post office, they weighed it and took my money and stuck a postage paid label on it and threw it in the outgoing pile! I'll bet the computer didn't like not having the word street, or drive, etc.
The address given is Bill's work place. His home address is:12714 W. Shadowlake Ln, Cypress, TX 77429. Bill did state he has received a plate sent to the original address. Please use his home address since the online post office does not accept his place of business address.
Thank you for all your help
The Cypress, TX address was accepted. The Alabama plate is on it's way.
Thanks Bill.
Is that all but LA ?
Will provide them with KY plate when they pass through next week.
