Hi: Still working on getting the 27 sport touring on the road again. Installed the coil box back on engine today. Is there a support or clip between the coil box and timer for the wiring harness.? Looks like there should be one, but I can find no reference to one. I've not had a lot to do with the 26-27 models so some things are new to me.

Yes there is a clip. You can see it here just to the left of the oil cap.clip

Donnie there is also the Timer Clip that is shown as T-2124 on the diagram that ken posted ( lower right hand corner ). This clip or band keeps the top wire from rubbing the fan belt. Lot of folks like me, didn't even know this clip was supposed to be here.

I went out and looked thru my clips and found 2 of the T-7688 clips, one is useable and the other is scrap. I think I can use the scrap one to flatten out and make a pattern to fab up another one. They are unique and I do not think anyone sells them. As to the T-2124 clip. Does anyone have a pic of one. I have never seen it before. I know there are 2 fiber type wire holders for I think the 23-25 models. Is it similar to them

Thanks Dan, That looks like the fiber one for 23-25. Its part # in Langs catalog is 5033-B. I see from your pic what is is supposed to do. I wonder if they changed the # in 26-27 or if it is different in some way. Langs useally uses Ford #s for there catalog #s, but there catalog does list it as original for 23-25 but useable on all years

The wire retainer is the same for all years. The numbers in the diagram, I believe, are Ford Factory Numbers and may differ from the Part Numbers. The T-2124 (5033-B) is shown in diagrams for all cars and trucks from 1922 and up but I guess someone "declared" they were used only on 23-25 cars. I would use it if you have it.

These can be easily made if you have a suitable material around (oil proof for one thing). It helps if you have a spare timer to measure and work from. Good little arts and craft project.

Thank you, forum. I was not aware of any of these clips or retainers, but have not liked the wires dangling loose in front of the engine. I will have to acquire some and put them on both my 23 and 26.

The 23 is different. Also note the routing of the timer wiring is different.

Been raining today so I made me a couple new retainer clips. A lot of work for such a little thing, but they do not seem to be available anywhere for the 26-27 commutator harness. I just ordered the ones that go on the timer from Langs. Thanks everyone. Now I have the correct routing for my wires...
