I know they used to be available does anyone know where I can find one
Try a junk yard?
That's like asking where can I buy a Ford. No mention of size or capacity.
When I built my "Kenbota", I used a 40A Mitsubishi alternator from an 87 Subaru Justy. It's about 5" in diameter and V-belt driven.
I would like to see the whole Kenbota picture please
The last Mitsubishi alt. I saw on a T had left the owner on the side of the road with no way to be repaired till it was towed home. KB
Michael, if you have a 1919 T or later, Becker has one that fits in the place of the generator with no modifications. Hook the battery wire to it and go. Price is cheaper than most generator repairs.
They advertise in the "Model T Times" International club car magazine.
Gear drive 6 or 12 volt in Lang's cat.
Becker's drive gear screws onto armature, not pinned like the others & won't fall off.
