Neighbor came over and gave me this tool asking what was it for. I haven't got a clue! Anyone here recognize it?
It says Ford A & B on it and in the second picture his finger is in a cutout or groove about 1/2 inch wide and also deep.
I apologize for the picture quality.
For knocking the two-piece valve guides out of Ford flatheads or maybe even model A engines.
Richard is correct
What a wealth of knowledge here...
John, to use the tool you have the valve wide open and insert the tool thru the valve seat and the groove fits around the stem of the valve. The valve head is in the bent section of the tool. Then take a hammer to the tool and drive out the valve guides.
Thanks Donnie. I'm going to go tell my neighbor what it is for, that it is worth $300 and tell him he can't have it back!
(He's a good guy)
$300.00 ! Then I'm moving mine to a locked tool
