Great post, Erich! Question - in the third ad down, what does "living for Dobbin" mean?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Warwick Landy on Sunday, November 10, 2013 - 05:12 am:

Dobbin was a term used referring to the farm horse?? In the Clymer book there is a period cartoon referring to an owner getting kicked by his T when it back fired. His response 'old Dobbin never kicked like this critter'referring to his old horse that he had replaced with his new Model T!
Nice Adds Erich. Thanks for posting.

Yes Erich, fantastic ads! I love the artwork from "the day" not to mention the way they describe things. Very different. Where on earth did you find these? Would like to get my hands on a few like this.

I find them often by accident while looking for something else. I love these also. The Ford advertising sure got fancy near the end of the T era.

Here is a second link to other period ads I have collected, many ford, some accessory, some other auto related.
