I do not know the proper names, I took the rivets out of the steering gear box separating it from the piece below.
I have the rivets, a dozen or so. I also have the two long quadrant rivets. Do they get cut and peen.
Do the steering gear box rivets get peened down by hammer or is there a special tool?
Thanks for help in advance. Bob
Depends on how good a job you want to do.
Who sells rivet gun or tool. I went to home depot and theirs too expensive for what I need done.
I bought my rivet gun on eBay for $29 a few years ago. Here's one right now, search "aircraft rivet gun".

A set like this provides everything else you need:

Thanks Royce. Home Depot I think was 80-200 dollars or something like that.
I'm glad I always called it an air hammer--they're only 30-50 bucks at places like Northern Tool, but you usually have to cut off the blade of one of the things that comes with it and drill a recess in the end to stay on the rivet!

There's also a left hand version of the rivet gun available if you need it.
