Great shot's - but where are the motorcycles? I have looked hard and have not seen any. Just surprised to not see any.
Thanks Erich
Right on thanks Erich !
Absolutely love that cliffhanger shot! Man that's a bunch of old cars...no doubt mostly T's. Looks like some Model A's in the mix. No doubt other (ahem) brands!
Looks like the Pacific Coast Highway north of LA Tim.
It's hard to believe that 6th Street in San Pedro ever looked like that. You should see it now!
#2 is the Avila adobe on Olvera Street (1818). It's the oldest surviving house in Los Angeles.
#3 is a view south on Main Street with the plaza on the left and the old plaza church on the right.
The Garnier Block/Plaza Hotel in #5 is across Main street from the Brunswick Drug Store in #3. It faces the plaza.
#8 is a view of the church across Main Street from the plaza.
#9 shows the former intersection of Main and Spring streets, the the plaza on the right and the church on the left, looking north. Spring Street now ends a block north of the church. The church is still there, but all the other buildings you see in the picture are gone.
#10 is looking southeast toward Santa Monica. In those days the highway was US 101. Now it's California 1.
