I recently acquired a Sioux #650 valve machine and it has two items i can't tell what they do, i thought one of the engine builders or machinist could tell me, i am attaching a picture.
Thanks Rick
The upper tool is a gauge for setting the valve lash in a Ford flathead V8. The gauge determines the stem length from the valve seat and then the gauge is placed in the grinder against a v shaped stop to sent the length to grind the stem to.
The lower tool is a support finger for sharpening valve seat reamer cutters on the valve grinder. The blade is a tooth rest for locating the cutter tooth at the proper height for sharpening.
