There is a very nice large Westinghouse meter on eBay. It has a 2.5 Amp scale (very rare) and would be an ideal HCCT meter without modification.

This might do the job for a lot less money. It is a bit more modern.

I've bought one of the china meters, thinking of a future HCCT-project - but they're only about 2" in diameter.. The Westinghouse meter is quite a bit larger, diameter 4 3/8" , giving better looks and easier reading while cranking
I put this one on mine, it is so big it is easy to read even though the 1.3 is not centered. KGB
Keith,
That is a beautiful Triplett meter.
Ted,
I have purchased inexpensive 0-2A China AC Amp meters in the past and found them to be inaccurate on a HCCT.

Thanks Bob, believe it or not, it was a 10 dollar ebay find. I think it was new old stock. KGB
Here is an amp meter that my son picked up for $3 dollars at an estate sale. I think it will work on my Variable speed homemade coil tester. I have a modern meter on it, but this one will look much better. The meter seems to have a choice of two inputs, one for the top scale and the other for the lower scale.
I will let everyone know how that meter from Ebay works. It is a winter project for me to build a HCCT. This is a great place for ideas and answers.
