My 8 year old daughter simply amazes me

We sit late together on a Friday night going over her drawings ....

This .... stands .... out

Family

A stocking hung by the chimney with care
simply labeled with what matters most to her

Merry Christmas !

Jim - Great post! Outta' the mouths of babe's, right?

You reminded me of one of the most profound answers I ever got from one of my grand children,....or anybody for that matter:

When he was about 5 years old, I asked my eldest grandson, Jonathan, if he knew about the real meaning of Christmas, and why we celebrate Christmas.

With no hesitation whatsoever, his instant answer was,....."Sure! It's a birthday party for Jesus!

Blew me away! And I'll never forget it! Can't really say I've ever heard a better or more basic answer than that!
