Who is going and what are your plans? I'm looking for a 17 to 21 touring body with a top. I have a 25 chassis hopefully running by then for sale or trade. I'll be leaving south central MO. probably on the 18th with a partial loaded trailer. Anyone need a ride to help split the gas? I'll be staying in the trailer during the show and a motel after the show.
WOW - I think that is about the earliest I've seen Chickasha pops upin the forum. :-)
I'm going down hauling an empty 16 foot flat trailer for hire going down and coming back. I'll be looking for a 25 and pre coil box w/cover, high rad cover, hood. Because my trailer is open, I'll be camping at the koa in El Reno Okm.
Wes may be the first to post, but Ive been thinking about it. ..... Donnie
Well I'm planning to be there but I won't be bring a trailer unless I do something foolish between now and then, (like buying another car) I will probably bring some wheel hard ware, like 28 inch quick detachable rims and rings, maybe some 23 inch standard universals possibly a 14 T steering and probably some brass lamps (not T)
Wes:
i will be at fr and fq11 as usual with my mainbearing linebore units and babbitt bearing molds ...i will also be bringing a bunch of spare items and hopefully a rebuilt 27 t block with Chev. overhead valve conversion and distributor for sale...look forward to this swapmeet every year and recommend it to anyone intrested in pre-war era vehicals...Merry Christmas ...gene french
I've been more than thinking, I booked my room at the Best Western....
My wife and I are planning on driving down this year. Her first year, and my fourth. Definitely the most fun car meet I do every year. If anyone in the PNW needs hauling for smaller stuff, I may be able to help. I'll be driving a station wagon down, possibly be hauling a '03 Olds on a trailer back.
If at all possible a T guy should make a trip to Chickasha.
Model T parts heaven hands down.
We made reservations after we checked out last year. Ready to go again.
You can see more T stuff there than most places combined.
Well, Frontier had flights for $158 RT to Oklahoma City, but the deal ends one week before I need to get there! Bummer. I'll keep looking.
I thought I'd rent a space or two and sell some stuff, but so far I've been too busy with other stuff to get anything ready. Looks like it will just be another shopping trip for me.
I have my spaces as usual at SL 12-13-14 in the back building. Two friends and I go each year. We camp on the spaces. We have a microwave, food, electric blankets, air mattress, and all the comforts of home. We like staying on the spaces as you are always there. No lost time going from motel, restaurant, ect, to the meet each day. We take a empty 20 ft trailer and my car hauler about 1/2 full of our "for sale" items and "old man" camp stuff. All of the above items can be packed into a car if more than one is bought and room is needed for return trip. With the air mattress and electric blankets it is better than some of the motels we have stayed in before. We try to make sure the doors are shut about dark and we make sure the heaters are on. All three of us say if we are only able to go to one meet, it will be Chickashea. I have already instructed my kids that it is there duty to push me around in a wheelchair if needed at Chickashea and Petitt Jean in Ark. when the time comes.
Electric blankets! That's a great idea. In recent meets the temps have been pretty mild, but I remember some bone-chilling visits to the Grady County fairgrounds. That's one more thing I'm bringing next time.
Is anybody from the North Carolina area thinking about going? I'd really like to go but 1,400 miles is a lot of gas to pay for by oneself. I'd be glad to pitch in on gas if anyone else is going and has some room.
I might try to make it down there this year... I've been hearing about it for at least a decade.
We will be there to meet friends, attend the early Ford meeting and buy a few things.
