Does anyone know where to get the Brush Plate Rivets for a Model T Generator. It looks like there are two different types and sizes. 4 go into the brush holders and 3 are hold the insulators.
Adam,
I just finished the rebuild of a generator.
As I took it apart, the rivets I found in the insulators were Transmission band rivets. The + brush holder was bolt on the plate and the - holder was tied on the plate the original way.

I think both large brush holders were originally riveted on and when the insulators needed to be replaced the one holder was tapped for screws.

I talked to Ron Patterson yesterday and he set me straight on all the info I needed. I didn't know there was a video out on this subject. I had seen the Generator rebuild video but did not know about the brush plate video. Thanks for all the help and replies and thanks Ron for the all the help and answers too.

Erich, how did you clean the field coils?
Adam,
I recently did a generator brush plate rebuild and got my rivets from Hanson Rivet Co. in Los Angeles and they look pretty close to the original ones. Since you have talked to Ron Patterson I would go with his advice. However if you would like to look at the ones I have I would be happy to send you a few. The ones I used are not pop rivets but hollow tipped ones.
