Both my T and my buddy Curt's T's were purchased as piles of un-assembled parts. Basically we did not take them apart, so we really do not know what we have.
Mine is assembled and running, it is a '21 body with a '27 drive train. We were assembling Curt's '26 tonight, assembling the bands after putting the hogshead on. We were having a major interference issue with the arm on the clutch release shaft, and the cam on the emergency brake shaft. The arm wanted to ride well below the surface of the cam. We went to my garage and checked the cam on my T's brake shaft, and found Curt's was about an inch taller than mine. I used the brake lever, and hardware that came with the '27 parts, because it was already cleaned and painted, but was also exactly like the one that came with the '21 parts. We will use my spare from the '21 on Curt's T.
My question is what does Curt have, where the cam is positioned so high?
One for the TT truck is higher
The TT trucks had a taller cam. Perhaps that is what Curt has.
Rich C.
The taller cam on the TT brake shaft was to compensate for the deeper frame rails. because the shaft was lowered the cam had to be taller.
Hope this helps.
