For Sale: 1926 model T boattail speedster
The speedster was designed for and driven in the 1986 Great Race. The car starts up quickly and runs well with a really nice sounding set of headers. The engine has a Fronty R head, pressure fed oil system with spin on filter, deep sump oil pan, a VW ignition on a Bosch front plate, 12v electrical system and a model B carburetor.
The car is fitted with what appears to be an aftermarket period correct steering box and handles well. The front axle has been dropped about 3 and is also fitted with Laurel style front axle lowering kit. The rear axle is a large drum Ruckstell. The rear cross member has been Zed to level the frame.
The radiator is off of a Whippet and has a leak which will need to be repaired before it is ready for road. The fuel tank is custom and holds about 20 gallons. The battery is fresh and the car has had a recent tune up. The car is sitting on (4) 30 x 3.5 Buffalo wire wheels with good tires and one good spare wheel.
With a little bit of work this car will be roadworthy again. Mechanic is available for questions about the condition of the chassis. Some literature available about the history of the car during the Great Race. Priced at $18,750.00.
*whistle* that is an awesome speedster
She looks sweet! Any contact information?
wow, what a beautiful speedster! Essentially my dream T right there.
Here are a few more pictures. The car is really fun to drive. The speedster has a bit more legroom than most speedsters. It would comfortably sit someone in the 6' to 6'3'' range.
wish I had the money
The speedster has sold and is off to a good home. Thanks mtfca.
