Anyone have any info on when during 1910, the center flange of the housings began using washers around the bolt holes, and when rings were introduced?
I have one without either washers or rings and one with rings, but don't know when the changes were made.
Sorry, meant to place it on the forum.
Richard, I have some limited info.
Sept. 22, 1909. Rear axle coupling ring new design.
This ring was riveted on and then probably blazed.
Oct 6, 1909. Special assembly rear axle. New drawing showing drive shaft roller bearing differential end and rear axle roller bearing.
These are changes from C. H. Wills to the drafting dept, so it was some time before these changes went into production.
