If you have a good hub puller and some time they will straighten the threads, just screw it on and off while tightening the clamping bolt it takes a while but I have done it several times on beat up threads Just a thought.

You might use a fine 3 corner file and a good pair of reading glasses. Screwing something as heavy as a hub puller blind on the fine hubcap thread seems like a recipe for disaster.
