I have the first four full sets of Automobile Quarterly to sell, plus a few extras. Can someone help me with pricing. I found an old thread with a link to a website that no longer works. Everything posted on eBay (shhhhh) references newer volumes.

Prices for early Automobile Quarterlies peaked about 30 years ago.

Today they aren't worth much, typically $3 to $6 per book.

Here are a few examples of sold transactions for early volumes:

Sadly I can attest to that.
I bought a complete set Vol 1 Number 1 to Volume 30 about 30 years ago and paid $1000, if I recall.
I recently tried to sell the entire set for $300. No takers. They are nearly worthless and unfortunately when I move I'll probably just put the whole set into the trash.
I wonder why no one wants these anymore ?
Probably due to the internet and video games. . .

They were the Cadillac of publications. I subscribed for several years and picked up a lot of back issues. The articles of cars I was interested are still a treasure to me.
They did leave me "high and dry" when they quit publishing them. I had just paid two years ahead and didn't get a refund.
Complete collections of VF, HCCA Gazette, Bulb Horn and others have been offered for sale at high prices. There will be many more available as time goes on. Compilations of disc can be searched and enjoyed without taking up the space the magazines do.
At some point in time there may be more interest in these things. Time will tell.

Many decades ago I picked up a pretty nice 1926 Nash Advanced 6 roadster body not far from here. These were big, every bit as big as a Cadillac of the day. I decided to try and find the rest of it including going to the 1977 Harrah's swapmeet in Reno. We went through the museum, they had one of these cars and let me get some close photos. There was a beautiful 1924 Nash roadster in there also. Later I bought the Nash Auto Quarterly that had a lot of pictures of Nashes including the '24,but the back half of the book was other unrelated car stuff including foreign. I thought how handy it would be if they had a picture of a car and on the next couple pages there were detail shots that could help a restorer know what the parts he was missing looked like. Door handles, instruments, taillight, etc. I wrote to AQ and got sort of a generic answer. That was about the last volume I bought. Pretty pictures of cars, otherwise useless. Maybe others found the same result and quit buying.
