New 12 tooth "hill climber" pinion. $160.00 plus postage.
Rich, I thought the 10 tooth pinion was the one to use hill climbing. A 12 tooth pinion will deliver an overdrive, better out on the flat.
I used a 12 tooth pinion on a 39 tooth ring gear to get an overdrive in my roadster.
I might be missing something.
Allan from down under.
Allan, thanks for bringing that up. I'm confused ! 10 tooth with a standard 40 tooth ring gear yields 4:1, this 12 tooth would be 3.33 :1 as opposed to the standard eleven tooth, 3.63:1.
I have to alter my sales pitch I guess - "Buy this gear, climb hills in overdrive !!"
