What is the old hot rodder slogan, "If it don't go; chrome it"?

Terry: Didn't that slogan originally come from Stroker McGurk (sp) a cartoon character in Hot Rod magazines back in the 50's? Whatever: it is a classic.

I thought the slogan was "Chrome won't get you home"

The problem I see it still needs 10 grade spent on it so you can have a car worth 10 to 12 when your done you have to do it just because you wanted to

Charles,I'm not sure what 10 grade is unless you mean 10 grand as in thousands. I don't see it,chassis's done, engine's done, bumpers chromed, new radiator, upholstery at least partly done. Tires look new. Some work on the body and paint it,floorboards, what else? Out here we have dust not rust. We had a '15 Cad for almost 25 years,I never waxed it,just hosed it off when it got dusty and wiped it down with old cloth baby diapers and it always looked great. What more would need to be done with the fenders, aprons, hood? This is never going to be a show car but in my opinion with a lot less than 10 grand it could be a going fun car with some special touches plus extra parts to sell or trade.Steve
