We officially got ten and a half inches here. But the snow was so light and powdery that my son got the leaf blower out and started blowing the snow off the driveway. He gave it up as too slow so I grabbed it and used it. It may be slow but it was a lot easier! My son Joe is a mechanic at Firestone and they close early today. It was nice to have help with this snow.
Now on to the cold. Predicting a low of -9 tonight with a high of -3 tomorrow. I think I'll just stay in tomorrow.
Yep, it's hard to tell exactly how much snow we got in Hillsboro, MO because the wind is blowing it around so much. I would say about 7 inches, but the wind had blown it up over 2 feet at my front door, so I cleared that away with my snow shovel. I'll probably have to clear it again tomorrow.
I may play around a bit with the snowblower tomorrow to remind me of what it was like in the winter at my former residence (Manchester, CT).
Much warmer here. We're supposed to get down only to +1º. The nice thing about being this far south is that it won't last long. We'll be back up to highs near 50º in a few days. Meanwhile I have an electric heater running in the bathroom so the pipes don't freeze. It's about 30º upstairs when I go to bed, but with a couple of electric blankets that's not a problem.
Ours is a wet heavy snow. About 18 inches deep in the drive, and now the snow has turned to fluffy stuff with 25-30MPH winds ,so it will drift bad tonight. It is 29 and falling right now.
