Hey guys, is this too far gone or can I use them?
The rust is only present about 5 inches on either side of where the valve stem protrudes.

Looks like it needs body filler and paint.

Rims are made of very thick steel. Back in 1970, mine were worse than that, especially on the flat part of the rim covered by the tube and tire. very deeply pitted. I just blasted them, primed and painted them and applied filler to the visible portions. Been using them ever since. Jim Patrick

Looks to me its a typical rim that just needs priming and maybe a little body filler for the pitted places.

Many a rim has been used in restoration projects that have been in worse shape.

Blast it, fill the pits, paint it, and use it.

The pics are a bit "foggy". I do question the thickness of the edge material on the top most photo. If it's better than it looks in the shot prep and use it as advised above.

If you're in doubt, replace it. there are thousands of those fellows around that only have surface rust. If you need a source check with Mark at Model T Haven

Good deal, the pic above is after blasting so that's bare steel you see with some residual rust.
I'm going to use it, I was just worried since its a load bearing part. Thanks guys! :-)
