Reading through a 2011 copy of the Model T Times I came across an excellent article by Russ Herner outlining an important date regarding the manufacture of the little wooden boxes that house the "stuff" inside our coils. They were made right here in my neighborhood, Sandusky Ohio. Attached to the article is a neat copy of the letter from K-W ignition dated Jan. 22, 2014 indicating their desire to have the American Crayon Co. manufacture 2000 boxes per day. They were made there until around 1960, making thousands for replacement. So in a few days will be a very important anniversary date unbeknownst to many I'm sure. Figured I'd post this anniversary date now, because I'll forget to do it closer to the real date!

To commemorate this plants existence, as it is being torn down as I type, I will try to post a couple of pictures of what's left of it. It also made billions of various Prang watercolors and crayons over the years. I can't remember exactly when the plant closed down to ship mfg. out of the country (I believe Mexico) but I think it in the 1980's.
