Does anyone know if Stutzman's Wheel shop sells complete, finished wheels including hubs? I thought someone once told me that he had a set of front wheels made by Stutzman and they included the painted rims/hubs. These were non-demountable 30x3 wheels. Can anyone confirm if this is so, and how much per wheel? I've had wheels re-spoked by Stutzman, but I sent them the original hubs/rims. I didn't know they also supplied the hubs/rims if needed?

McLaren sells complete wheels. They refurbish the hubs and supply new rims, then send them to Stutzman's for the wood work (spokes/felloes). They will make correct ones for any year T. These are for a '15.

Mel Draper will sometimes provide hubs to Stutzmann for those who are not capable of providing their own. However the price will be double or triple or more than what the hubs are worth.

Best to contact either Langs or Chaffins or Mark Freimiller or John Danuser or one of the many other T part sellers and provide them yourself. Can you say sticker shock!

I looked on eBay the other day and saw rear hubs for $20 each and front hubs about the same.

And if you're in no hurry you can get hubs at auctions and swap meets for even less.

All you need to send to Noah Stutzman is a clean hub, hub flange and rim. A sample spoke and section of felloe helps them make what you want. They will provide new bolts, nuts rivets and felloe splice plates. Tell them which letter (maker) you want on the splice plate.

If you can take the time to go to his shop, it is a very pretty and interesting Amish area in Southeast Ohio. Larger than the Amish community in Pennsylvania, I hear.

In late September, I ordered up and had McLaren send 4 rims to Stutzman, and I sent Stutzman 4 primed hubs. I picked up the wheels on Oct 7 at Stutzman's shop. Noah Stutzman gave me a half hour tour of their shop, a fascinating operation.

The only part of my wheels that is now "old" are the hubs. The wheels fit my 1913 T touring car.

Stutzman's work is first class and reasonably priced.

I used johnsons wood wheels, I did not have good hubs as they had been welded on the convert wood wheel hubs to wire wheel hubs. Should have saved one! just to show what people will do!. Johnsons did have hubs and trued them and charged 25 bucks per hub. I also had him order new clincher rims and build wood fellow wheels for me. Yes, they were not cheap, but safety is worth a few bucks, compareable in cost to other builders.

Out of curiosity how much does it cost for Stutzman to respoke split rim demountables?

I'm thinking of replacing my clincher rims with new ones. How much do the new 30 X 3 McLaren rims cost and do they run true? Does anyone else make them?

I have a tad over 3/32" runout on my front rims and at 35 to 45 speed they cause a lot of vibration. ugh! Luckily at 50 and above they smooth out nicely.

McLaren supplies everyone. You might be able to true yours, or let Stutzmann true them for you. Or find good originals. If I were in your shoes I would true the originals.
