Cool. The splitter is an off the shelf flywheel / rack and pinon splinter (like this http://www.supersplit.com/)that the motor has been removed and is driven with the treadmill. Looks to run a little slower then it would with the motor.

Interesting contraption, but I figure the 3-4 gallons of gas I need to power my woodsplitter for the season is a whole lot cheaper than keeping a horse. I wonder if the guy is Amish or something. Most folks don't keep draft horses unless they work them.
