The watch itself is an antique but most likely someone has added a decal/altered the face to turn it into a "fantasy piece."

Years ago, I was at Hershey and a gentleman across from our booth was selling antique pocket watches that had automotive themed decals added to the face (such as the names of car companies in the appropriate script). He was very honest and admitted that the watches had been altered but that the average person could very well be deceived.

That looks like a Hamilton 992B triple sunk Montgomery dial watch. I've never seen one with an image on it, so I'd say it was altered. How that effects its collectability, I'm not certain. They are fantastic watches though! Being a porcelain dial, I'd image the image could be removed. A railroad watch would not have such a decoration, especially since since it partially obscures the second hand dial.

Yeah now I know, you are right.
Thanks for info.
This watch is out on ebay now.

I looked at the auction. The seller claims its an 18 size, but it doesn't look like it to me, unless that's a real big hand holding it. BUT, it's not a 992B, not even RR grade, although it is lever set. And it's loosing 10 min. in 24 hrs. so, buyer beware!
