Since it's too cold to work on the barn, I decided to finally install that new radiator I bought over a year ago. The old radiator was a montgomery ward from '39 & had several tiny leaks in the upper tank. While wrestling with those darn springs & studs that mount the radiator to the frame I happened to notice a stain coming down from the water outlet on the motor. Turns out the left mounting ear is cracked. The former owner just stacked multiple gaskets & sealer on it to try to compensate.
Anyway, anyone have a spare they'd sell reasonably?
thanks,
Mike Saltsgaver
Mike,
There are a couple on eBay right now.
Larry
they re usually so badly pitted that they leak. its money well spent to buy a new one. about 20 bucks
The major vendors want around a hundred bucks & with shipping, it's more than I wanted to spend. I'll see what ebay has....

Maybe you need a die grinder, an oxyacetylene torch, some brazing rod, flux, a straight edge and a file.
opps, we're talkin about the late on with a fan, i was thinking the plain jane...never mind!
You guys are bound & determined to make me spend money....I ran out of oxygen the other day & was hoping I could hold off till warmer weather before exchanging the gas bottles. I was going to use what little acetylene I had left to soot up a shaft that I'm going to be pouring babbit around (for my 25 lb little giant trip hammer that I'm rebuilding).
Mike Sa
acetylene is crazy high now, have you bought any lately? 95 bucks for a medium cylinder about a month ago. last one i bought was about 50
Mike
There are two 26/27 fan mount water outlets.
The early 1926 version is hard to find and expensive.
The late version is common and easy to find.
I suggest you contact Dave Huson for a late version which should be cheap.
Ron the Coilman
Hmmm...this means someone has already changed the outlet once already. I have an early car (December '25) & the cracked outlet is the late style.
95 bucks for gas....wow....I thought I'd have plenty to do when I retired, but at this rate I won't be able to afford to do anything but set on the porch. Unless Sonya buys that lucky lottery ticket I've got 5 years to go....
I'll ask Dave if he's got any in one of his piles.
I probably do if Dave doesn't.
Mike
The upper water inlet photo is from the original engine in my December 9, 1925 Roadster Pickup.
The bolt is a radial eccentric screw on the circumference of the hub and the nut only needs to be tightened a small amount to prevent it from turning. This type commonly has a broken casting ear from over tightening the eccentric nut nut.
The later type shown in the lower photo is much more robust because the clamping action is axial to the fan hub bolt.

I have both the early 26 and the later one danuser88@ktis.net
one on ebay now for 24 bucks, no bids, a day an a half left. good luck
OT Just payed $45 for 75 CF acetylene and about $18 for oxygen, Portland Or.
this one ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1926-1927-Ford-Model-T-Cylinder-Head-Water-Outlet-Coupe- Roadster-Touring-Pickup-/151216116716?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&has h=item23352ed3ec&vxp=mtr
there is also one from Canada for $38 that has the hub for the fan
Ron Patterson: You show two outlets and fan pulleys in your post. Is the shorter fan pulley assembly correct for the later 26-27 outlet as shown? Which one would I use on a 26 coupe with the later outlet and new flat tube Berg's radiator? Thanks,
jb
I also have several of the later design in good shape. Would $30 fob be reasonable? If so, PM me
James
Sorry, I cannot account for the different pulleys.
Ron the Coilman
The longer snout pulley is for the Ford 2 row radiator.
Thanks Steve, I did not know that.
