Here are a couple more items from some boxes of stuff Im going thru. Do not have a clue what they are for. The one item appears to be a grease gun or ??? It is labled Mfg. by Stewart Warner Corp. Alemite Division, Made in USA. May be for speedometers ??? It has a grease fitting in one end and a small hole on the "needle end" The "knurled" part will turn on the center section. I think it also should move lengthwise also ??? but it is stiff or stuck. The other 2 parts may just be part of something.?
The first one is indeed a "grease needle" for injecting grease deep into the nooks and crannies of bearings.
We used the item in the first photo for greasing most replacement U-Joints for years. The grease nipple inside the Cross could not be accessed with the normal Zirk quick connector. I have no idea what the bottom picture is though.
The needle greaser works well on smaller u-joints where the yokes are too close together to fit a standard grease gun fitting in there. Use the small point to depress the little ball in the grease fitting and grease away! I also use one to grease my Model t's. You can shove it to the bottom of cup type fittings and inject grease into the bearings or bushings without having to fill the cups and screw them down.
