Would Serial #36,366 be considered a 1910 or a 1911 Torpedo?
When was it built?

1910 model year ended with serial number 31,500 on Sept 30, 1910. All cars with higher serial numbers were built after that date and are considered 1911 models.

By the way serial number 34,901 (a 1911 model) is recoded as being last serial number built in calendar year 1910. So serial number 36,366 was likely built in late January 1911.

Don,

From page 491 of Bruce McCalley's book "Model T Ford" available from the club and vendors it has:

36,300 was shipped Jan 24, 1911 a touring
36,400 was shipped Jan 24, 1911 a torpedo

I believe all the low door torpedoes were 1911 model year cars. Just like the Model Ts produced in Oct 1908 were 1909 model year cars. I would welcome information to indicate they were also considered 1910 cars. When the transitioned to 1912 the door became taller and taller again with the one piece dash. There is always more to learn -- and I would love to find additional documentation on that.

Respectfully submitted,
