A two cylinder double acting steam engine is equivelant to a v8 engine they both have 4 power strokes per revolution.

4 Dobles participated in the 1988 Steam car tour in Sun Valley, Idaho. They were very impressive to watch and ride in.

What's the "double" steering wheel?

The smaller wheel on the steering column is the throttle I believe. At least it is on a White steamer. Very dangerous at a car show if someone walks up at turns it while steam is up. Owners often cover it up with a coat.
