Has anyone seen one of these units or run a set? Or for that fact have any observations to share on these?

I presume that this coil would would make that clacky sound that coils make when their points are shorted on a HCCT. The primary is always connected to the two terminals. The "choke" and secondary coil are actually a second coil powered by the induced voltage from the first (primary) coil. When the points open, the primary coil is going to induce perhaps several hundred volts onto the so-called "choke" coil, which is really the primary of the second coil. A coil could be manufactured with several of these stages. Every stage multiplies the voltage, but also reduces the efficiency of the unit.
