This is Bob from Bob's Antique Auto Parts,
We were on route but when we got into Mo.
my wife began to get very ill, she was admitted to the hospital yesterday and they do not know how long she will have to stay, still waiting on answers,I will post more when we know more,Bob
Very sorry to hear that. Hope she has a fast recovery.
May the Good Lord bless your bride with a rapid recovery.
Add another Bob to our prayers - OK Bob's wife!
Hope your wife is better soon!
She just went in for more test, her liver count should be at 50 and she is now at 1400, not good, hope to know more soon, thank you for your prayers, Bob
Bob are you in St Louis area? Sorry to hear your wife has health problems T and TT Ford Parts
Prayers for your wife ... Take care of her, she comes first ... not us.....
I am sorry to hear about your wife's illness. We will be praying for her and we will miss you at Chickasha.
Bob, everyone here understands Mrs. Bob is your highest concern. I was looking forward to looking thru your boxes of Model T Parts, and so understand if your not able to make it. Payers are being said. Jerry
Bob, I second John Danuser's question. Are you in the St. Louis area?
Bob, hope all turns out OK. Dave
Bob - Hope she gets well soon. She comes first.
Bob...only talked with your wife on the phone once, and she sure was a very sweet person. My prayers go out to both of you.
Prayers go with you and your wife Bob....
Dick I assume that's the way he comes, either way Kansas City and St Louis have excellent hospitals, Dick how are you doing, fine we hope
Thanks, John. I'm doing okay. Could be better, but we often don't get to choose what happens in our lives. If Bob is in the St. Louis area at one of the hospitals here, I'd just like to connect up with him to see if there is any help I can offer. He said that the problem developed after he crossed into Missouri, which does suggest St. Louis. I do kind of know my way around St Louis...
Bob, we will miss you but family is more important than Chickasha. We will keep you folks in our thoughts and prayers.
Still waiting on more test results this morning, yes Eureka,Mo ,thank you for all your words,Bob
Bob, hope the tests come out in her favor.
Bob, where are you in Eureka? I don't know a hospital there. E-mail me at dlodge - AT - nedcons - DOT - com.
Bob the Prayer warriors are out in force!
The hospital is in Fenton,Mo, I am on the hotel pc
she has had 20 tubes of blood taken and they still know nothing, if they cant figure anything out they will be sending her to U.W of Madison, about 1 hour from home, she feels fine no pain, the liver is getting worse they say, They have no answers at this time and it is a nightmare for us, will keep you posted, thank you all, Bob
Okay, St Clare. Got it. Are they consulting with Barnes?
If there is anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to let me know.
Yikes, that is absolutely frightening- I have her in my thoughts. I hope she improves soon!
Hang in there Bob....You and your wife are in our thoughts and prayers.
Test are all coming back negative, they do not know what is making the liver fail and swell, trying a new med but more test in the a.m. hoping for good news, Bob
Bob hang in there, so sorry your wife became ill, I've been down a yr and a half, as I have liver problems because of the weight I used to carry, also have a heart valve problem, and hardly any chance to live thru surgery, so I told them no more testing, keep me in blood, so since Feb a yr ago I've had 28 units of blood put into me. Tell her to keep fighting, don't give up
Bob and Mrs Bob, my payers are with you both. We miss you set up here but your taking care of what you need to most. J
Bob, I don't know much about St. Clare Hospital. It is the successor to St. Joseph in Kirkwood, which was not a first-tier hospital. You are 16 miles from Barnes Hospital/Washington University Medical Center, one of the country's leading medical centers. Have the doctors there talked to Barnes?
Dick thanks for the follow-up
Praying for your bride and you too, Bob.
They have a specialist in with her now and trying a few things but they say they can not figure out what is causing this, hope something turns up soon, her counts keep going up and they say liver is only working a few percent, they need to figure out something soon, thanks guys for staying in touch, Bob
My prayers are with you and I hope they find something soon.
My prayers are with your wife and you!
Our prayers are with you both.
Sending prayers your way and hoping they will find an answer soon! Stay strong!
Hang in there, Bob. We're praying for both of you.
My wife just read this and thanks everyone for your prayers,Bob

They said we have to wait till Monday for byopsi then 3 days to read it, they have no answers and we are lost in emotions, Bob

Bob, e-mail me at dlodge -at- nedcons -dot- com.
Where can I find you at the hospital?
Bob, I'm not meaning to sound like I know anything about your wifes situation. I've been dealing with a sick liver for several years. My last biopsy showed level 3 condition with grade 2 inflamation. For years my SGOT and SGPT liver functions were very elevated and I was about a half step from cirohsis. I went through a lot of weakness and had a lot of time to talk with the almighty. As it turned out I went on a type of chemo-therapy for several months and it put the liver disease into remission. I never reached the point of jaundice, however the chemo caused my hair to fall out, I was fatigued and I had little or no appetite. The appetite thing was good because I avoided a lot of the vomiting. But the thing is, at the end of it all everything seems to have turned out okay for me. The liver is strong and recovering from this sort of issue is possible to nearly inevitable. Seek as much help as you can from liver specialists. There's a lot of good endocrinologists out there that can really help. I'm praying for the best results for you and your wife. God bless, Mike
Thanks for taking the time to update us. You and your wife are in my prayers.
I hope by Monday they have come up with a quicker means to find out what is causing the problem!
Perhaps you could ask the doctors to consult with experts at other local hospitals as suggested.
Further to what Arnie said, I asked my doctor to recommend a liver specialist at Barnes-Jewish (one of the leading teaching hospitals in the country) and he responded with this one:
Thank you, I just left the hospital and they have a good specialist on the case, more test on Monday, results take about 3 days, I am sorry but the shop will be closed another week, please understand, I will be by her side till we find out ( GOOD NEWS )
then take the trip back, we are trying to make the best thoughts but sometimes doctors tell the nurse something and what they say gets mixed up, a few good things her points are not going up right now and a few are lower, but not much, thank you for all your prayers, Connie thanks you also,Bob
tHANK YOU dICK ALSO WE ARE TALKING TO SPECIALIST UP BY rOCKFORD ALSO.
Sorry caps got on, did not mean to upset anyone,Bob
I was deeply offended by the caps, Bob....
Okay, just kidding. Glad things seem to be under control. I am eight miles from you. If you need anything, just let me know.
We are finally home from Chickasha and I was wondering why you weren't at Chickasha. I was away from modern conveniences and was shocked to see this when I checked the forum.
Family is first always and know that we are praying for Connie and you both. If I can be of any help let me know.
Still here in Mo. she had test late yesterday, along with some pain she seems to be in good spirit, hoping for answers soon, will let you know what we find out, Holiday Inn just gave me a better rate for being here so long, Thursday we hope to get results, Bob
We are keeping the light on for you in IL Bob. Prayers extended in hopes of a speedy recovery for your bride.
Bob, We missed you both at Chickasha. Thought about you and your wife each time I walked by the blank spaces in the North Building.
Our prayers are with your wife and you. May she have a successful and speedy recovery. Keep us posted.
They just told her they are thinking of letting her go home today, they do not have all the test back yet but believe this was caused by over the counter vitamins foe some kind of gelatin for hair and nails, they have to set up appointment with specialist in Rockford first, will keep you posted, thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,Bob
Sounds like good news, Bob. Glad to hear it!
Wow, sure am glad to hear this good news, Bob.
There's no better feeling than sitting in the wheelchair with discharge papers on your lap as you wait for your spouse to pull the car up to the exit doors and drive you home from the hospital!
Will be offering up prayers of thanksgiving for this good day. Keep us posted, okay?
They told us that at 7 a m still no word on when if if they will discharge her, they are not the fastest group, Bob
All hospitals seem to do that. I always thought they did that to get another day charged to u for the room.
Thank all of you for your concern, we got home late yesterday and Connie will start with a new specialist on Monday, good news is they say her counts are coming down slowly and the test show this was a infection maybe due to over the counter vitaman , but we also got ten answers from that hospital, so we will see what this week brings, thanks to all of you, will keep you posted, Bob
Sorry to hear of all yours & Connie's trials... Praying for you!!! btw what otc vitamin caused this?? Let us know... you may help keep others from going through the same troubles..
God Bless you both,
Very glad to hear this. Thank God for wonderful news. You must be feeling so relieved!
Bob we are happy she is doing better, your welcome in Missouri any time, but having fun enjoying our sites, not hospital's. Keep us informed, one of your dealers Sky-Go-Farms Antique Auto Parts Fulton Mo
It was either the Green Yea OR some kind of Gellatan vitams
she through them all away, never but from dollar store or wal mart without asking someone behind the counter,Bob
Great news Bob! Hope she continues to improve. Dave
A friend of mine at work (back before I retired) was on a green tea kick for a while. He had to stop drinking it because it was interacting with his blood pressure and cholesterol medications (so his doctor told him).
I remember as a kid, there used to be a product carried at the supermarket, next to the boxes of Jell-O, called "Knox Gelatin".
On the front of the box was artwork showing a woman's hand with long, manicured fingernails holding a clear goblet of orange liquid.
Below the artwork it said something like "Knox Gelatin for Beautiful Hair and Nails".
I remember my mom saying "That stuff messes up your liver."
Guess Mom was right. She always was.
Glad to hear your wife is on the mend Bob.
I am very happy to learn that Connie is doing better and you have a potential answer.
I will keep her in my prayers and that there will be a full recovery with no side affects
Praise God. Glad to sure things worked out.

So glad to hear that news!
I was off-line for over a week and missed most of this thread until you were headed home. Hence, no comments from me above. Just so happy it seems to be turning out alright.
Still, my prayers.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
Just an update, her counts are on the rise again, still have no idea why, doctors are running more test, will advise more when we find out, once again thank you for all your words and phone calls, Bob
Two angels went out collecting prayers. One collected prayers asking for something and the other collected prayers of thanksgiving. Which one do you think collected the most?
I submit both: a thank you for Connie's recovery and one that there will be no reoccurrence.
BTW, I went back over this whole series of posts and I only saw "Mrs. Bob's" name mentioned once. It's Connie, right? Thanks Rodney...I like to use a name.
I missed Fred and Andy.
I'll put Connie on our Church's prayer chain.
