Does anyone here know of the status of Ed Couch, of Wichita, KS who is the principal of Speedometer Repair Service? He does not answer his phone or return messages. Ed has had my model 26 Stuart head for over a year now. In my last live telephone conversation with him on January 27, he stated that he had some health issues but would send out my speedometer within 5 days, only charging me the $175 bench fee since it has taken so long. Needless to say it has been seven weeks. Now I only want my head back. Recent attempts to reach him have not gotten any response. His business phone number is 316-841-7275 and appears to be a cell phone. His web site is still up and gives no indication of activity or inactivity.
Bump.
I tried to send you a PM but it got blocked. Send me an email or PM.
Any update would be greatly appreciated as I cannot get any response from Mr. Couch either and he has several of my early SW speedometers and I am beginning to worry.
Garrett, send me a PM and I can no give you information on how to possibly get your speedometers back, not necessarily repaired. To anyone else, Ed a Couch is in physical as well as financial trouble.
Good news! I have recently been made aware that Ed Couch is no longer in the Speedometer Repair business. His equipment and backlog of speedometers under repair have been bought out and taken possession of, respectively, by Mr. Brandon Wight. Brandon would like to hear from anyone who previously had a speedometer in for repair with Ed Couch that has not been repaired or returned. He will either do the needed repairs or send it back to you. In any case, contact with Mr. Wight is necessary. He can be reached by phone at: 714-336-4290 or e-Mail at: bwight57@aol.com. This issue has taken over a year for me, but I am finally glad that some closure can be had. Good luck to all similarly involved.
Sorry to say Antiquespeedometer.com is the ABSOLUTELY WORST place I have ever tried to do business with. They are without a doubt the worst most unresponsive people in the world. Period.
Jon
yes, I have left messages for Antiquespeedometer.com both email and phone. Never a response...good site but just no one there.ever...
Why anyone would send their speedometer to anyone other than Russ Furstnow is a mystery.
I would really like to buy a Jones or Stewart brass speedo with a white face, (really like the 0-60 with the needle moving about 90 degrees) along with the cable and gear for the wheel. I'm not sure what all I need though or what exactly is right. I have called and emailed both of these places mentioned and never heard back. At least it isn't just me.
Every speedometer I ever sent to Ed Couch had to be sent back a SECOND TIME!
Seth -- Buy (or borrow) a copy of Russ Furstnow's speedometer book. It will tell you everything you want to know about Model T speedometers.

How someone can "buy out and take procession of" speedometers that do not belong to them in the first place is a mystery to me.
