Comparing Ford Manufacturing Company's parts cost with Ford Motor Company/s 1908 parts price list shows what appear to be good profit potential. The Ford Manufacturing prices should be cost to FoManCo, while the retail parts list will include shipping, stocking, profit, dealer commission, etc. Still, an interesting comparison in my opinion.
A cylinder jug (cast in pairs) cost is listed as $3.67 (finished), the retail price is $30.00. Aluminum crankcase cost - $8.70, retail - $30.00. Crankshaft finished cost - $2.80, retail - $16.00.
