Stopped by Cast Iron Mike's welding shop in Marysville Wa today. He is up to his gills in neat old car cast iron welding projects.
Saw 2 "T" head cast in pairs cylinders for a 1912 Simplex, 2 large cast in pairs Pope Hartford cylinders and 3 Model T blocks from Oregon.
The Simplex cylinders are from Indiana and the Pope Hartford cylinders from New Hampshire. Mike is getting cast iron parts from all over the country due to his incredible abilities to save our old castings.
The Oregon model T blocks were finished and bolted to the pallet board ready for shipment, and they looked great and ready for final machine work. I believe the owners name was Curro?
I have no financial interest in this resorce but can heartedly recommend his abilities and expertise.
I've had Mike do stuff for me too, including a Fronty head. Always turned out good.
Do you have the contact info for Cast Iron Mikes. I have nothing now but may later. Ive sold most of my welding stuff after I retired and now have to "farm" some of it out.
I will post his contact information later this afternoon when I go down to my car barn.
I don't have his contact information. I always have a local machine shop send my stuff over with theirs.
