Hi, just trying to find out exactly what I have here with this part. I know it's a carburetor, but not much else. I was told it may be for a Model T, so figured I post in this forum.
As you'll see in the pics it has a Pat'd date of 1915 and 1918. The mounting holes are on 1 1/4 inch centers.
If you have any idea what this is or what car/year it's for, please respond. Looking for any information I can get.
Thank you.
It looks like it's an aftermarket carburetor meant to fit a Model T, though not a carburetor that Ford would have supplied. The were many dozens of aftermarket carburetors available during the Model T era. This appears to be one.
If it is for sale I'd probably be interested. I dunno if it's for a T or not, it's not like any other Swan carb I've ever seen.
I looked at the photo again, the choke setup is wrong for a Model T.
It sure would be nice displayed on my Swan intake. Let us know if it's for sale.
Original patents as per carburetor stamping dates.
( Note their spelling of 'carburetor' as ' carbureter'

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. Those patent PDF's are really great, much appreciated, I will read through them.
Yes, this would eventually be for sale, but I feel I need to gather more information to know it's value.
Hoping to get even more replies,
Thanks.
Mr. Howe spoke first, so I bow to him.
What's a ballpark value on something like this?
Bump. Just looking for some guidance on the value of this item please. Whether I sell it on this forum or somewhere else. -Thanks
Mounting holes for a T carb are on 2 1/8" centers, so Id say this is for some other car. If you can find out what car or cars used it, that might help you determine the demand/price/value. I'd suggest posting the pictures on a multi-make forum like AACA and/or HCCA for a better chance of somebody recognizing it.
Having the “Yale” cast into it, it may well be off of an old Yale built product
such as a tractor / tow motor etc.
yup. $35.00 on a good day.
I used Google to search for "Swan carburetor 534-B" and came up with this old AACA forum thread:
