Is the Auburn swap meet in CA still going on?
June 1st! Less than three weeks! But, SHHH! I get to go for a change. One of the rare times it isn't the same day as the Endurance Run. Figures, though. I probably won't make the run for other reasons.

See you there Wayne!!!
Nobody else need attend, we'll snag all the good parts. . . . .
I'll be looking for you! (When I can pry my face out of the boxes of rusty junk (er, PARTS)! By the way, Erik B has a bunch of great stuff he is planning to bring.

So does anyone have a web site or flyer with info?
Wayne, What site are you going to be in? Ive been there twice so far. Are you going to be on the grass or up in the parking lot this year? Thanks, Scott
Go to motherlodemodelt.com and click on the swap meet link for info. There is also a link to our site on the chapters page at the MTFCA web page.
We will be at the meet with lots of good T stuff. Our warehouse with tons more parts is minutes away also. We are looking to move this stuff out so will be running a special deal for guys in need of chassis parts, engines, fenders, you name it. Killer deals for budget speedster builds. We will also have some wire wheels and Ruckstells.
Spaces are not pre registered, so you will have to find us wherever we wind up. See you there!
Erik
Robert S O,
I should be taking a bunch of stuff to sell, but am nowhere near prepared and do not have the time to even begin sorting it out. So I will be there strictly to buy (and visit). I do need to sort out a bunch of stuff to sell. I could use the money and the space. Maybe for the Chevrolet Club meet in September (however, I did also think that last year). About half the stuff I need to get rid of is Chevy anyway (most of it left over from my dad).
I usually wear a vintage sports cap (newsboy cap) to swap meets. Hope to see you there. Maybe we can set up a time for all the forum regulars to meet by the donut vendor. I will need my usual donut anyway. Or Erik Barrett's space could also work.

Wayne,
Good idea, pick a time and a place. Donut, eh? I'm goin' for the lemon pie!
Erik! Don't they have just the one place for donuts etc? Is that where David D gets his pie? (I know he looks forward to that pie!)
Is Jay planning to be there?
Is 10 o'clock too late? I am usually still looking for bargains, but I know others need to leave early? 9 o'clock might be better?
I will probably be wearing my vintage sports cap. I could wear my straw (boater) instead?

I am dickering with setting up a table to sell if I can get my act together. I have started a pile of stuff to bring that I am willing to part with, just don't know if I'll get enough together in time to make it worth while having a space at the meet. In any case I will be there and I'll have my name tag on. See ya all there!
Good deal!
Steve Elliott-Hoof Works?
Chuck Hoffman-Gold Country?
Hal Schedler?
John Saylor?
I know there are a lot more of us around this area. I didn't mean to leave anyone out.
Time?

Wayne, Endurance run same day.. ? That's too bad I'm ready to put the TT truck up against a Speedster , darn. I'll be at the swap but having trouble finding time to sort the stuff out CU
The club food booth will be set up at the usual place in the corner of the field. 10AM sounds good.
Erik
10 am it is then--now how long will I be drooling over all the stuff the Erik is bringing?????
BTW Erik, I read your email to Jan Clay to the City Parks Commission (Jan had to go to an appointment, so I was drafted). Everyone is getting pretty excited! I also told them what a GREAT deal they were getting.
For those of you who wonder that that was about, Erik is bringing the Judge Lott 1922 Buick touring car back to life after decades of sitting as a display & the stuff he's had to do goes way beyond the call of duty! The City Docents will use it to promote the city museums & the Judge Lott home.
I may have the Lott Buick for display at the Auburn meet. It is almost ready. I wound up spending as much time repairing the rear axle as the engine. Broken housing and third member replaced with donor parts found in Nebraska, relined service and emergency brakes, modern hub seals, the list goes on. It's a great car and worth the effort see you there!
Erik
So when I was there last year I was told we would not be on the grass this year. Its a ball field and the parents think that there may be pieces of iron and or bolts left on the field and the kids could get hurt. Was told that we would now park on the grass and the swap meet will be on the pavement. Can we get an update? Thanks, Scott
We will be on the grass as usual. The issues with the fairgrounds have been resolved.
Erik
Thanks Eric, It can get warm up there on on the pavement it could be very warm. Scott
Steve Elliott,
This year, the Endurance Run and the swap meet are on different weekends. I think it is only the third time in over twenty years it has happened. So this year, you can attend both. I probably will not make it to the Run this year for other reasons, but would recommend you do if you can and are still interested in getting a fast speedster to go along with that great looking TT you have. I would highly recommend hanging around the tech inspection on Saturday if you can also. You can get a better look at the cars that day as well as talk to a lot of the people better. Call me if you have any questions.

I don't think I can make it. Maybe??? Hal
Sorry about forgetting Terry H! Also Phil L who lurks here! I cannot imagine that either of them would not be there.
I know there are others!
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
Wayne you talking about the local speedster run or the one in San Jose?
The one in San Jose! I haven't heard any more about the local one yet. Les S should also be at the swap meet. I don't know if he lurks here or not.
It's a long drive from LA, just to find about 1/2 dozen vendors with T parts. The last time I went it was all hot rod, and small block Chevy parts. It's a great meet though, I used to attend every year. I miss going.
Larry make a list, This year you Notice its Advertised Big for a reason not just the great Pies! I'm only able to bring big stuff, front ends engine blocks, loads of fenders, rear ends axles stuff that's too hard to mail. Eric in the Club as well as others have tons of parts.. but there's Lots of T parts at this show more than you can think ,I can only bring a trailer that's already flatten the tires. anyone will put you up at their house you are welcome with free T rides
Anyone know of someone that could transport several tires to Auburn from Santa Cruz? I need to get them before I miss out on them and haven't been able to get down there myself.

Bu-ump
Just another reminder!
see you there--PIE at 10!!!!!
