Do the new radiators made now have the brass Ford tag on the back?
Here's a link to Brassworks Radiators. They could answer that as could Bergs Radiators.
Bob -- Unless they have changed very recently, they do not. Brassworks' predecessor stamped the data tag on the tanks back in the 60's, as was done on original ones. I think some of the early original ones had separate tags attached, but I don't know what years were attached and which were stamped.
thanks for your info. Bob
From the Brassworks web site.
"Note: During 1914 the name plate on the back side of the Model T radiator top tank was changed. Drawings of the rear panel of the top tank indicate that the Ford Motor Company plate soldered to the tank was replaced with an embossing of the design of the plate in the rear wall of the tank itself. Unless otherwise specified The Brassworks manufactures Model T reproduction radiator prior to 1913 with the plate soldered."
It sounds like they will work with you on this.
They will. My brother removed the tag and the lamp tube from his unusable original '13 and they followed instructions exactly in placing the original parts on his new radiator.
The trouble is, no one is reproducing the correct tag! They were used into early '14, but that is it!
