I have started dragging home the best part of a T roadster but am unsure of what year it is having only ever owned 26 27 Ts. I am assuming it is somewhere between 1916 and 1925 but that's as far as my basic T texts will get me. Any help much appreciated

It's a high cowl dash you've got considering the info in this thread: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/23821.html?1169317621

So I'd say it's likely a 1924 since the '25 usually had more steel in the cowl structure. Of course, the structural parts can be missing, but considering the fender isn't 25 & if all parts came from the same source, then it might be a '24. Do you have the door hinge? Equal length hinges is a 1925 feature.

Thanks Rick and Roger
Looks like I have a 24.
I did a quick search for woodwork patterns but most threads are nearly 10 years old. Can anyone help with patterns?

It has to be '24 unless you believe in "late 23's".

For the wood, try fordwood.com:

You're going to want to order the tack strip, part 317. Part 318 is for the earlier body style. Except for the top of the panels where the tack strip goes, they appear to be identical. I have a back panel for a 24-25 if you want it. Not in the best shape, but I'll let you have it for the cost of shipping. haha

Most of the woodwork looks straight forward and easy to make if I had patterns or dimensions. The tack strip is probably the only difficult piece - Is the tack strip one piece? I am thinking how expensive it could be to ship to the other side of the planet.

The patent plate on the dash is consistent with a 1923-24 car. The so called 1926-27 style patent plate actually appeared at the end of 1924.

Respectfully submitted,

Trent

Well have got it all home and laid out and appears I am missing a door. I had a quick look at the web site of the usual suppliers and couldn't see one listed - does anyone reproduce door skins for 23 - 25 roadsters or is this one of the hard to find parts ?

Defanitley a '24/'25 based on the high firewall. As Chuck Hoffman says, it has to be a '24 or '25, there is no such thing as a late '23 with a high firewall. If it has a low firewall, it is a '23, if it has a high firewall, it is a '24, or '25. Don't believe everything that you see in the vendors books. Dave

I don't see the door listed on Howell's website, so you'll need an original door. Ask all the parts dealers. They have old stuff not listed in their catalogues or on their websites.

The doors are on e-bay all the time. Ill look and see if I have one. The doors are the same from 1915 to 1925..... The hinge is different on 1925 models. When open a 15 to 25 hinge is somewhat triangle shaped, A 25 hinge is rectangle shaped when open.

There is a difference between the mounting screw pattern of the triangle and rectangle shaped hinges as I recall. That would be the only difference.

Don't know if this is plastic since the seller only mention rods? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Model-T-door-1923-1924-1925-1926-1927-1928-1929-rat rod-hotrod-/121344352926

Better options may turn up on ebay. In the meantime put an ad on this site and check with http://modelthaven.com/parts.html
