Floyd Voie and Wife stoped by the shop yesterday. They were here to see their oldest daughter graduate from Colorado State University. I asked them to accompany me to Estes and up Trail Ridge, in my 16. They agreed and off we went. I trailered up to Estes and down loaded there. We took off up Trail Ridge. Our first stop was Sheep meadow where we stopped to take pictures. There were lots of Elk in front of the parking lot but no Rocky mountain sheep. I talked one of the naturalist into posing by the 16.

We continued on up Trail Ridge to Rainbow Curve at 10,847.

The road was closed due to snow from there on up. The 16 was running as poor as any T I ever took up the ridge, but I think the Voies enjoyed the trip that far any way. I had installed an Anderson combined intake and exhaust Manifold a couple of day before and I think maybe that was the problem. I have two Anderson manifolds on two of my other cars and they really seem to work good. I will try the Ridge again before I go back to the original manifolds to see if that was the problem. I even had to use low pedal some of the time.

Rainbow Curve is at the tip of the peak over the naturalists head. It is the spot of snow. Just a little over two miles above sea level. I would like to say that the Voies were very enjoyable visitors.

Below is a picture of the road coming up to Rainbow Curve.

Anserson intakes work great. It should not be the problem unless it has a leak.

Royce:

I agree that Anderson really work well for me I have them on two other cars and they run good.
this Anderson I have just put on my 16 was warped some. I don't believe I could have straightened it any with my fixture because of the double construction. I took it to a machine shop and had them bore out the openings some to try and straighten it some. It seem to work but maybe not?
Anyway I never had this T on Trail Ridge before with two passengers, I will take it back up with just me. I will see how much difference that will make. If it still is doggy I will go back to my aluminum high intake manifold and see what that does.
