Have some documents, check lists, how tos and other Model T related items I saved on my on my XP computer. Transferred files to Win 7 computer and now can't read or print them out. Any easy way to do this? Thanks for any help.

Finally something I can help with! :-) Gary, you will either need to have Works installed (which it appears you do not) or Microsoft Word (part of Microsoft Office). If you do have Word, here is a link to a self help article on the Microsoft Website.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315757

If you do not have Word, it is fairly inexpensive. Search for Microsoft Office on google and you should find a number of links.

If you still have the old computer you can open the documents in Works and save them out as Word (.doc files)

There is also a free downloadable office suite called Libreoffice that is "supposed" to be compatible with .wps files though for all around compatibility I would buy Office. It is a fairly large download so if you will need a broadband connection such as a cable provider or DSL.

Finally, you could go to a local independently owned computer shop and see if they have a copy of Works laying around that you could have.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and I will give you my number.

Patrick

Microsoft Wordviewer is free and it should be able to print WPS documents:

If the link doesn't work you can find it by searching microsoft.com for Wordviewer.

Thanks guys. That gives me some options. Got distracted and didn't get to work on it right away but will soon. Still have old computer and if nothing else will I'll hook up printer to old computer and print out docs and scan them into new computer. Hammer and tongs approach I know but what works, works.
