Hi guys,

I have been looking for a T for a long time and finally found a nice '26 touring last week. I am just getting started on learning everything T and will really appreciate the help this forum seems to offer.

So for my first question. Where should the horn be mounted? Mine is held by a head bolt on the right side of the motor. It dose not seem right and every pic I look at shows it in a slightly different place. Thanks in advance for all your great input.

Justin.

The 26/27 Battery Horn would be mounted by 2 bolts at the drivers side of the motor. The 2 bolts are the exact same 2 bolts that fasten the water inlet to the side of the motor block. The correct horn would be part number 6432 at the link below. These are reproduction horns but on the outside are identical to a factory horn since they are built to the Ford factory drawings.

26-27 horns should be mounted on a bracket that straddles or mounts above the water inlet on the driver's or left side of the engine, using the water inlet bolts. If your T has, or ever had, a water pump mounted in the water inlet's place, it probably got remounted elsewhere.

They made water pumps that would accommodate a '26-7 horn.

Larry, that's true. I have seen them on Ebay from time to time, but Justin hasn't told us whether he has a water pump; what kind; or if he intends to keep it.
