I only joined the MTFCA 15 years ago this month in June 1999. My assigned membership number is 22,295. I was wondering what the member I D number is up to now. I know there are not app. 30,000 members active. The oldest member number in our club, the Model T Ford Club of Kern County belongs to Blackie, it is #3596. He has been a member over 40 years.
Thanks Mark

That's great John. I didn't realize there were so many members the first year of the Club in 1966. I would love to hear your memories of the early days of the MTFCA.
Mark

So they don't reuse old numbers. But if someone leaves the club for a few years and rejoins, can he get his old # back?

I never got a MTFCA membership card. I joined in the 70's.

I first started getting the MTFCA magazine in early 73. My number was #5963. The clubs address was in Oceanside California.

I quit taking the magazine and started up again 4-5 years ago. A higher different number now.

I cant remember if I got a card or not. The membership number is on the magazine envelope. I still have my magazines in the original envelopes and all have the same ID no. next to my name.

I'm thinking that would be the membership no.

Don't think they distribute membership cards anymore. I know I haven't received one.

My member number in the Model T Ford Club of America is 823. My member number in the Model T Ford Club International is 953.

I joined this club in the first year. The international was a year or so old when I joined. There are not many in either club with lower numbers.

My number is 8127 and I'm not sure what year that number reflects, but I've been a member for a lot of years. I had a lower number the first time I joined, but then I was away from the club for a while and when I re-joined, I got my current number.

Mark - I have been a member of the Kern County Model T Club sine 1967. I was a member before Blackie. My member number is 1695. I moved from Bakersfield in 1986 but have maintained my membership since that is where I got my first 3 T's. I get back down there in April each year for the swap meet and visit with the members from back then. Is there going to be a 50th celebration for the club this year?

John, Sorry. I thought your member number in the Club Roster was a Life Membership number. Yes there is going to be a Model T Ford Club of Kern County 50th Club Anniversary in September. Roy Romagno is heading it up. I don't have any more info yet.
Mark

It looks like the Member Numbers are up to about 31350. Not bad since December 1965. I wonder whom has the oldest and lowest number still.

I could have been #223!! My dad was #222 and at the time Ray Miller and Bruce McCalley had been coming to Bakersfield lobbying for the Kern County club to affiliate with the MTFCA. After my dad joined I was going to join as well but Ray Miller said no that I would be considered a family member under my dads' membership. That was in 1966 and I was 17 at the time. I have had my own model T since I was 13 but didn't join the national club until the 70's.
