In an article that I have written for future publication, I mention that the Ford dealer in my small hometown from 1921 to 1933, sponsored a semi-pro baseball team. When I learned of this from the daughter of the dealer and she sent me a picture of the team, I was surprised. No one in the generation before me seemed to know or remember it. The reason I think it was unusual or special is that the dealer was in a town of less than 500 people; maybe less than 300. In those years, the local high school didn't field a football team. Track is the only high school sport that I have heard of at that time, so semi-pro baseball was probably the only sport for entertainment in town.
