Might anyone know of any Model T-ers, get-to-gethers, rallies and swap meets in the Chicago Illinois area?
Just acquired a '22 Runabout and am anxious to be among my peers who enjoy the same passion.
Any information is appreciated.
Many thanks.
Jay.
Hi Jay - The Model T Ford Club International has a Chapter in the Chicago area, the Midwest Chapter.
For contact information, go to www.modelt.org then to Club Info, then to Chapter Listings, scroll down to Illinois, and then click on Midwest Chapter.
I understand that they are a quite active club and they cover the entire Chicagoland area.

A partly-T event not far away is the Iola swap meet in July. It's just up the road from you in Wisconsin. I usually find some good Model T parts and other items there, and their car show always includes some nice T's.
Hey Jay, we'd love to see a pic of your runabout!
My 'local' club is in Elgin. 2nd tues of the month
Jay,
The Midwest Chapter of the MTFCI usually meets on the First Friday of every month. But not this month! That is because we will be at the Downers Grove Cruise Night this Friday. The Model T and Model A are the featured cars, and you will be able to find some of us on Curtiss St. if you can make it out (I personally won't be there as I have baseball to coach). It starts around 6PM and if you want to bring your car, you'll want to get there at about that time otherwise the "featured car" spots will be full up and you'll have to fight the Mustangs and Corvettes for the rest of the spots. Downers does a good Cruise Night.
After that, our next outing is on Sunday the 8th. It is the John & Irene Stynoski Birthday Celebration and Annual Restoration contest. It's not a driving tour, it's our annual pancake breakfast. It is from 8am to 11:30 ish and it will be at Katherine Legge Memorial Park on County Line Rd. in Hinsdale. There will be plenty of T's lined up in the park like a mini show. Club members cars will be judged for our club contest, but most cars are just there for fun. You're more than welcome to come out and bring the T. I'll be the guy flipping the cakes behind the griddle. It's generally one of our best attended events of the year.
You can send me an email at bob_solak at yahoo (dot) com
and we can correspond more about the club.
I wish I could be in Downers Grove for the cruise in -that's my home town! I grew up there in the 1960s-mid 1970s. Alas, I live in Virginia now...
