I need to know how to tell if a TT ring gear and worm is the high speed set. I have a set that is out and need to find out what it is. Anyone know? Thanks, Dan
Count the number of teeth on the worm and ring gear and divide. High speed will be a hair over 5 to 1 and standard will be 7.25 to 1.
Since you have them out, the easy way is to count the teeth on the ring gear. Low ratio will have 29 teeth and high ratio will have 31 teeth.
Worm is 4 teeth on the slow and 6 teeth on the high speed. Scott
Thanks, Dan
Not to sound sarcastic, but I'm assuming Dan hasn't driven the TT, 'cause it quickly (no pun intended) tells you what rear end is in it. 22 mph about tops on the standard rear end, I've read the high speed will give around 30-35? No doubt mine's standard..looking to change that!
Do not have a TT. Set of gears in the pile of parts I got. Wanted to know which they are. Dan
Dan, please tell us what you found.
Also, please tell us if it's a TT Ruckstell rear end.
Look at picture in thread" What I found in my trailer". Dan
