Here's a tire pump that has the piston hooked to the foot plate and the body goes up and down when your pumping it.
The history of that pump goes back to a dairy long ago. The cows tried to come up with a more comfortable milking machine. Although they failed in achieving their primary objective, they did succeed in developing an improved tire pump.
Of course, since they were all Holstein cows, so they called their company "Holstein"
