There is a reason this is on-topic.

I had never heard of her but googled her and now see the relevance. RIP, Stephanie, and thanks.

I wonder if she knew about all the T Fords using Kevlar band lining.

Well i'm sure she was probably a little happier with all the police officers and soldiers whose lives she's saved

Thank you Ms. Kwolek. I wore your helmets in Panama, Somalia and Bosnia. . . have your tranny linings in 6 of my T's. Wonderful inventor.

As a tribute to dear Stephanie I drove my Kevlar lined 1912 T today out and about the neighborhood. The T shifted smoothly and the brakes work every so well.

I know she did not invent Kevlar for us T guys but we do owe her a debt of gratitude. I realize the Kevlar is for a far more important cause than ours, but she has made a difference in our lives too.

Thank you Miss Kwolek, god speed, RIP.

I owe her a huge debt as well. The company I work for makes & services gear pumps that help to produce Kevlar. I've earned my living by servicing the Kevlar industry since 1987.
