Hello All,

I found a couple threads here regarding the most favored rust converter and a product called Evapo-Rust won out, however the thread was from 2008. Any new products more favorable or is evapo-rust still considered a good product. I need to protect the bottom of the compartment under the back seat of my 16 Touring. It has a few pinholes but is otherwise ok. I just want to prevent further erosion.

As always, my sincere thanks in advance,

Patrick

Evapo-rust will remove rust not protect from what I know of it. I've been using Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer primer and POR-15 for my coupelet preservation. POR-15 to seal and protect areas that I won't see (frame, underneath fenders, running boards, etc) and Rust-Oleum for general primer of parts that I've cleaned.

Evpo-Rust is for soaking in. You need something like Rust-mort that can be brushed on and left;

I have used rust-mort for many years and find it to work great. We even used it in Hydro Power Plants on metal that was exposed constantly to water or even submerged in water. Good stuff in my opinion.....

Nope. Nothing new unless you make something. I have been using Evapo-Rust, vinager and cola for rust for ever.

" I need to protect the bottom of the compartment under the back seat of my 16 Touring." He needs some to paint on not to soak in.
